    We are a family-owned and operated farm that has been providing fresh, high-quality produce to local communities for over 13 years.     Our Products

    We are currently sold out of meat chicken for 2025 due to a national poultry shortagr. We offer a wide variety of seasonal produce, including fruits, vegetables, grains, forage, herbs. All of our crop products are grown using organic and regenerative farming practices.  Our chickens are raised on lush pastures rich in leguminous plants fostering a nutrient rich eating experience.

    Our Farming Practices

    At Prairiesun Organics, we believe in organic and regenerative farming practices that promote the health of our land, soil, crops, pollinators, and our animals.  We use pollinator friendly organic approved fertilizers and pest control methods, crop rotation, cover crops, & compost. We use farming practices are environmentally responsible and regenerative in nature.

    Welcome to Prairiesun Organic Farm

    Fresh Produce and Berries

    We grow a variety of fresh and organic produce, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Our farm provides the community with healthy  food options. 

    Farm-to-Table Dinners

    Join us for a unique dining experience under the stars. Our farm-to-table dinners feature locally sourced ingredients and are prepared by talented cooks. Come enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. 2025-2026 is not planned yet.

    Education and Training

    Prairiesun Organics is a South Dakota learning farm. We  host an annual field day each year with 6 half-day workshops on various topics throughout the growing season. Our 2025 field day is June 20th from 10 am to 2 pm.

    Farmers Market

    We are members of the Vermillion Area Farmers Market.  Thursday Markets are from 3 – 7pm.  Summer market hours begin in May and continue through the end of October, at the Clay County Fairgrounds, on the corner of High and Cherry Street.

    Food Safety

    Prairiesun Organic Farm operates under HACCP and good agricultural practices.

    all sales are subject to 6% sales tax when sold in the City of Vermillion. State sales tax at the farm gate is 4.5%.

    Hours

    Please call for appointment to visit the farm. we no longer allow visitors on the farm due to the Avian Bird Flu outbreak in Soutb Dakota. We have appointed times for events throughout the year. We also will have a pick up location at The Shed at 1314 East Main Street, Vermillion Starting in July.
